Creative Armenia is pleased to announce that 5 exceptional artists will share the $2,000 top prize of the Self-Quarantine Creative Challenge, in partnership with Ucom.
“The global competition received thousands of submissions from artists who responded to the crisis with creative vision,” said Anush Ter-Khachatryan, Director of Programs at Creative Armenia. “These five artists found new ways to reflect upon and define these special times.”
Ani Qananyan, a clay artist and painter from Yerevan, masterfully depicted the universal ‘quarantine routine’ in a short film/installation.
Van Sarkissian, a Germany-based musician, delivered a powerful electronic hallucination that broke the boundaries of isolation.
Arnaud Khayadjanian, a filmmaker from France, took us on a heart-warming creative adventure on Google Maps.
Tigran Nersisian, a US-based filmmaker from Russia, captured “an honest and frank conversation with the self,” with dark poetic turns.
Tamara Aydinyan, an Armenian dancer and choreographer, captured the madness of quarantine in a poignant and solitary dance.
The works of these 5 winners, and many others, can be experienced at SelfQuarExperiment.com, a curation of film, music, literature, and art created in the times of COVID-19.
